Customer Rating: Summary: Cook Book Comment: Another gift for my wife this Christmas. She likes this guy's cooking and has all ready made a couple meals from the book. Well written and well layed out.
Customer Rating: Summary: Fab Fast Food Comment: These recipes work - not canned "semi-homemade" throw togethers, but real food prepared with minimal fuss and maximum flavor. Several recipes quickly became family favorites and were served for holiday meals! Love the Butternut Squash Saute, and the Chowder.
Customer Rating: Summary: Disappointed Comment: The book was a disappointment and I returned it. I had listened to an interview on the radio and it sounded good--even an entire chapter on eggs. That sounded good. Easy to fix recipes, and quickly done, or so I was led to believe. The book was full of expensive pictures, which unfortunately, took up most of it. The chapter on eggs had three--three total!--recipes in it. It was mostly filled with pictures of the eggs. That was his idea of a chapter. And not one of them was quick and easy. The rest of the book was similar in content, the largest chapter being on desserts. Not what I had in mind. I am sure the recipes are all good, but I wanted something that was a lot more simple, which he advertised this to be.
Customer Rating: Summary: Easy Excellent Food Comment: As usual, Jacques has outdone himself with a group of recipes that are not only yummy, but easy to prepare. If you have not seen the first fast foods book, treat yourself to both.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great way to eat better Comment: Not having seen the TV programs I bought the book based on some of Jacques Pepins prior work. The format and the menu suggestions are great!
The idea of using the supermarket as your prep cook is wonderful.
