Summary: You might want to do this with monitors of equal quality...
Comment: I had an extra flat-screen monitor hanging around, so I thought I'd buy this reasonably-priced, easy to install gadget and use both monitors. With one of them in "off" mode, they looked quite nice next to each other.
What I didn't realize until I had the dual monitor setup was that the second monitor's quality isn't as good as the monitor I was already using. That's not a reflection on the adapter that makes this all possible, but it's something I wish I'd considered before. Now that I have the dual monitor setup, I feel like I have to try to use it even though the second display is not up to par. It sits a little lower, has a comparatively yellowish tint to the color, and has sort of blurry text in comparison to the better monitor. I tried adjusting the settings, but that didn't help. Truthfully, I can barely stand to look at it, so I'm not realizing any advantages from the setup and probably should have just donated the older monitor.
My computer has been locking up more often than usual since installing it, which could be caused by the adapter, but I can't say for sure.

Comment: Thanks to this little gizmo, My productivity improved 3 fold, no joke. I only wish they would come out with Mac drivers.

Summary: Blurred display, Low cost, Low performance
Comment: I returned this product after 5 days because of unacceptable blurriness of the display. Installation was quick. Had to download/install latest driver from their website. The device recognized the LCD monitor and everything worked fine except the quality of display. The display was very blurred. Word, Explorer and anything with text was too blurred to be able to use this display.

Summary: Bad performance
Comment: I have tried to use these adapters for the last six months at work and at home. My company ordered several of them recently but we had to give up on them. I tried them with my home laptop and the same results.
The laptops crashed very often (BSD) for no reason, and also when trying to open .mov files. The resolution is not good, and the refresh rate is very slow. I work for the IT department, and I tried to troubleshoot it by contacting the Tritton tech service. I installed the newest drivers/firmware. No luck. I had to return the device.
Note: Our company tried a couple other adapters but they had the same performance. We had to buy DVI connectors and use docking stations.
If you are looking for an adapter with great definition, and great performance try something else.

Comment: this product is OK.
I bought if to use with an older laptop that is my workhorse but after using it for about 3 months I switched to the matrox dual head 2 go device.
I do not game (use my xbox 360 for that) so reviews on use for office apps are right on the money. Older laptops will have throughput issues as the USB port will delay any screen activity and give you jitters!
May work better on newer, faster hardware!
