Summary: Enjoyable and Useful Entertainment Console
Comment: I am currently an owner of a xbox360 and a Wii. Got the Xbox360 and the PS3 not too far apart in time and the Xbox360 already kicked off on me...via red ring of death, but the PS3 is still humming along.

From a technical and engineering standpoint this is a superb console in design and function is much easier to use than the Xbox360. The over all unit is sleeker design for the PS3 as well.

The unit is quiet, and the sound and video are fantastic though it tends to run hot after a while, so be careful about keeping it in an electronic cabinet with a back as it can get very warm inside the cabinet. It needs decent ventilation for long playing playing times. This is truly a multimedia device in the truest since of the word.....considering a is a high end blue ray player as well as a gaming console.

I think it is a pretty good value because it is so much more than a gaming machine. This system has the ability to receive frequent updates and Sony has addressed the compatibility issues with older HD TVs and is also has backward compatibility with all PS1 and PS2 games. I love having such a wide variety of choices for one system.

We have certainly enjoyed ours and I feel is worthwhile, certainly a purchase I have not regretted.

Summary: This is not a game buts a great system
Comment: If you look at the features of the PS2 and compare them to the PS3 the PS2 would fail but the PS3 is not all prefect itself Sony made some system made with no ps2 or ps1 backward's support and the ones who do have it can't play all PS1 games so pick your system wisely !

Summary: crashed after only a year
Comment: came home one day after owning my 60 GB, crashed, no red light, nothing have since owned a 40 GB, upgraded the hard drive to 250 gb, and love it, its not worth the headache of having a PS2 inside it. From what I have read on Sony website forum and reviews this is one of the reason they stopped making the 60 GB, seems like they tried to cram to much into the 60 GB version. if you read the fine print on the warranty even on the new PS3's there is only a 1 year warranty, had mine almost two years, the only one that actually lasted the longest was the 20gb, which was my first PS3 when they first came out had over 2 years, and loved it. Had the 4 usb inputs and ps2 built inside it, seems like the newer ps3's are running much better. Which is def. a good thing.

Comment: This is my version of the Playstion 3 I bought in January of 2007 and I have own the PS1 & PS2 This is the model to get but man is it expensive now. Why do you want to get it because it play PS2 games as well as original PS1 games but don't take my word it's really about preferance cause there's PS3 Wii X BOX 360 which I really hope to get a Wii there's some games that look cool and so really I have
Resistance fall of man
Resistance 2
Quantam of Solace
Street Fighter IV
Virtua Fighter 5
That's my collection I'm always looking for more PS3 games so leave a comment as to which PS3 are the best.
